Bucheon Art Bunker B39 is a multidisciplinary cultural and arts complex created through the transformation of a former municipal waste incineration facility into a vibrant cultural destination and industrial heritage platform. Centered around its monumental waste storage bunker, which extends from the underground level to a height of 39 meters, the space preserves the original industrial structure while embracing a new identity where culture and art coexist.
Today, the venue features a diverse range of facilities, including the Archive, Multimedia Hall, Air Gallery, Studios, and Art Hall, hosting exhibitions, performances, educational programs, creative projects, and venue rentals. In particular, the preserved areas on Levels 4 and 5 of the Archive have become sought-after filming locations, renowned for their distinctive industrial aesthetics. They have been used for music videos, feature films, television series, commercials, fashion editorials, and a wide variety of visual productions.
By reimagining the value of industrial heritage through a contemporary lens, Bucheon Art Bunker B39 serves as a dynamic cultural platform where the memories of the past inspire the creativity of the future, connecting citizens, artists, and creators through art and culture.
