Held since 1999, BIAF is one of the most successful international student animation festivals in Asia. BIAF was founded to foster talented individuals that will lead the digital image culture industry. It focuses on youth competition for animations created by local and overseas students. The festivals also screens feature films, special screenings, and offers an omnibus and master class. As BIAF supports the cultivation of young animation artists through education convention, exhibition, events, etc., the festival contributes to the development of the animation industry, education, training, and serves as a platform for seeking measures to establish international cooperation and exchange.
